1700 Special 56 EX3 Japanese Navy Aircraft Carrier Hiryu with Etching Parts
The Special series Aircraft Carrier Hiryu now comes with etching parts
The model is based on the appearance during the Pearl Harbor attack in December Showa 16 and the Midway operation in June Showa 17
During the Midway operation in June Showa 17 the flight deck includes identification markings for friend and foe the Hinomaru and can also be modeled for the Midway operation
Newly designed parts introduced in 2021 are included to unify reproduction differences due to release period Some parts are divided for easier painting
The 127 millimeter twin high angle gun type A consists of four parts improving detail from the existing two part version

The nine meter cutter on the launch deck is divided into two parts for painting with the deck support available separately allowing choice with the deck mold
The twelve meter motor launch is divided into separate parts for canvas wheelhouse and engine room cover for painting
Each part can be painted before assembly
The chrysanthemum crest at the bow is newly included
The boat body and deck floor are separate parts allowing assembly after painting without masking

Boat cradles are molded with relief and light holes for added precision
The hull is molded as a single piece for both port and starboard sides

Elevators and windbreak fences are separate parts
The edges of the flight deck are engraved with a split pattern
The anchor chain deck and launch deck include detailed split patterns and linoleum details
The bridge base is molded as a single part using slide mold technology
The funnels are two part pieces joined vertically with seams hidden
Strip patterns on high angle gun decks are finely engraved
The bridge includes binocular parts for added detail
Fifteen aircraft are included five each of Zero fighter model 21 Kate torpedo bomber and Val dive bomber in gray color
The 25 millimeter twin machine guns are finely detailed two part design from 2018 mold for easy painting
Major parts hull bottom aircraft and machine gun parts are molded in gray
Three types of decals are included
One sheet for aircraft markings
Two sheets for ship name and deck support white lines
Flight deck markings naval flag and Hinomaru identification marks for June Showa 17 Midway operation
Etching parts are included to reproduce fine details difficult to achieve with injection parts
Etching parts include handrails ladders masts windbreaks steps fall prevention fences boat davits and cranes
The kit requires assembly and painting and is unpainted
The scale is 1700 and it is a waterline model without the hull bottom
The kit consists of traditional Special series molds and new parts designed in 2021
