Product Details

This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.

DDG-171 Hatakaze is a third-generation guided missile destroyer of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, commissioned in March 1986.

Unlike the preceding Tachikaze class, the Mk.13 missile launcher, previously placed at the stern, was relocated to the bow and protected by a bulwark against waves, which became a distinctive feature.

The aft deck was capable of operating helicopters, further enhancing anti-submarine warfare capabilities.

Hatakaze remained active on the front line until the commissioning of the Aegis destroyer Maya in March 2020, after which she was reclassified as a training vessel (TV-3520).

Assigned to the 1st Training Squadron at Kure Naval Base, she participated in training cruises both domestically and internationally before being decommissioned in March 2025.
